'මඩොල් දුවේ ජින්නලා'

Slap on the wrist කියන එකේයි slap in the face කියන එකේයි වෙනස නොදන්න අය එක්ක Pope ගැනවත්, ක්‍රිස්තියානිය ගැනවත්, බටහිර ශිෂ්ටාචාරය ගැනවත් කථා කරලා වැඩක් නැහැ. මොකද ඒ අය තවම ඉන්නේ 'මඩොල් දුවේ ජින්නලා' වගේයි.  

There is no point to engage in endless arguments on the Pope's act, Christianity or the Western Civilisation; those who don't know the difference between the 'slap on the wrist' and the 'slap in the face' is because they still live like 'Jinna' from 'Madol Doova' (a character in the Sri Lankan Novelist Martin Wickramasinghe's children's book Madol Doova,1947, - Sinhala: මඩොල් දූව - which describes two unruly youths who turned an island into their idyllic place).
